Lamborghini’s CEO favors Estoque sedan as next production model

It’s likely that the next model that Lamborghini will approve for production is the Estoque four-door rather than an SUV. Last month, Chairman and CEO Stephan Winkelmann disclosed that the company is thinking about adding a third model to the lineup. And just very recently, Winkelmann told Autocar that he prefers this new car to be a four-door. There had been speculation that the company is readying a super-luxury SUV to be the indirect successor to the LM002 off-roader.
Winkelmann said that the Estoque is indicative of the presence of opportunities outside of the supercar business. He said that the response to the Estoque had been “more enthusiastic” than had been expected. He added that it’s now the right time to determine if the brand could venture outside of supercars.
When asked about an SUV project, Winkelmann said that it is a “no-go” since the company doesn’t have a price segment for it. He also said that the SUV is not a real luxury car. Winkelmann believes that new buyers will be attracted to the Estoque since it is more practical than its two-seaters. He said that if the company will decide to add a third model, it could be a “first car” and will attract people to the brand.
