Lamborghi’s new SUV to use next-generation Porsche Cayenne platform

Lamborghini LM002 SUV

According to a report by autoexpress, Lamborghini is developing a new SUV that takes inspiration from the LM002 of the 1980s. Lamborghini is known for giving is models a strong personality but it’s expected to borrow some know-how from parent Volkswagen and its sister brands for its new SUV. It’s expected that Lamborghini will use a platform that Porsche is developing for the next-generation Panamera and Cayenne.

It’s likely to be a smart investment if Lamborghini is given the chance to feature it on the Estoque four-door saloon production vehicle. With this plan, Lamborghini will be able to enter a segment that Ferrari has not entered. Ferrari has stated many times that it isn’t planning an SUV.

Autoexpress said that Ferrari has “no links to SUVs” and so it won’t be able to get into this market. Lamborghini will get the help of Porsche, which was able to avoid financial trouble due to its Cayenne.
