Lancia and Chrysler to share products on the European market

2012 Lancia Flavia Cabriolet

In line with the goal to integrate the Chrysler brand more closely with Fiat S.p.A.'s upscale Lancia marque in Europe, Lancia CEO Olivier Francois was appointed as Chrysler brand boss. It is likely that the two brands would be sharing products ranging from small hatchbacks to large sedans. Reportedly, Chrysler and Lancia will share products and distribution in Europe in the near future.

According to Autonews, Lancia could get a replacement for its Thesis flagship from the next-generation Chrysler 300, which it stopped building last summer.

In addition, Fiat is seeking other product sharing opportunities for Chrysler and Lancia. It's possible that Lancia would get a car derived from the Chrysler Sebring successor and Chrysler will be getting a version of the next-generation Lancia Ypsilon small car, due in Europe late next year.
