Lancia will bring its highly anticipated product, the all-new Ypsilon, at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show. Lancia has recently published the first photos of the revised Ypsilon on its official website. The model features a more modern and sporty look with a two-tone finish that will likely be offered on top-of-the-range trim levels. Lancia has not revealed plenty of details about the new Ypsilon. But awhile back, rumors have come out that Ypsilon will be offered in three engines provided by Fiat: a 0.9 SGE, the 1.4 Multiair and the 1.3 Multijet diesel.
A hybrid version is possible, but Lancia and Fiat have not yet confirmed this. European sales are expected to start either in late 2011 or in early 2012. Notably, Fiat has considerably low expectations from the model that marks the revival of the Lancia brand.
Company sources said that deliveries aren’t expected to exceed 1,800 units per year. The new Ypsilon will be available exclusively as a five-door model and will be based on Fiat 500's platform, but with an extended wheelbase for a more spacious cabin.
