Land Rover sales went up by 64 percent year-on-year in May

Sales in the UK of Land Rover vehicles went up by 64% year-on-year in May. Launching the revised Land Rover Discovery, Range Rover and Range Rover Sport models for the 2010 model year is considered a factor in the strong rise in sales from January to May of this year. Range Rover had the biggest increase when compared to May 2009, with 121% a rise. Discovery sales rose by 87%, Range Rover Sport sales went up by 58%, Freelander sales increased 60% and Defender sales climbed 32%. Land Rover sold 15,181 units worldwide in May, a 42.3% increase on the previous year. With 3,040 units sold, the UK was its biggest market. US is its second biggest (with 2,935 units sold). China comes in third place, with 2,026 units sold. In the first five months of the year, Land Rover sales in the UK rose by 60% year-on-year.
