When the 2013 Land Rover Defender enters the European market, it will be available with three added options and two new exterior body colors dubbed Barolo Black and Havana. For the first option, the buyer can choose from four new contrast roof colors set against the majority of the Defender paint palette. Together with the standard Fuji White, Defender customers can choose from among Santorini Black, Indus Silver, Orkney Grey or Firenze Red. For instance, Land Rover said that the Firenze Red body color can be selected with the Santorini Black roof and the Baltic Blue with Indus Silver. For the second option, the features include a new body-hugging seat design, partly dressed in leather with the backrest carrying the Land Rover logo, available for the driver and front passenger.
For the third and final new option, Land Rover offers an upgrade for the base audio system that includes Bluetooth connectivity with remote microphone and Alpine-branded Hi Line 150W low profile subwoofer system with 10cm coaxial speakers.
The Defender is still available with the same 2.2-liter turbocharged diesel that offers 120hp (122PS) to achieve a 0-60mph (96km/h) acceleration time of 14.7 seconds and to reach a top speed of 90mph (145km/h) as the 2012 model. The automaker said that on the combined cycle, the CO2 emissions are 266g/km for the Defender 90 and 295g/km for the 110 and 130. The 2013 Model Year Defender will go on sale in the UK in September 2012 with a starting price of £22,350.
