Last Saab 9-5 rolls off the production line
One of the oldest vehicles still being produced, the Saab 9-5 was introduced in 1997. It has only had one major update since then. Now however, only months from its debut, the all-new 2010 9-5 has ended production at its Trollhättan plant in Sweden. On July 2, the last car rolled off the line. Officially, no numbers have been released.
According to our sources, more than 500,000 units of the 9-5, including the sedan and the wagon, have been made since 1997. The car will still be available for sale as the company estimates current stock should last until the end of the year, when the next-generation model arrives. The Opel Ruesselsheim plant in Germany will be building the new 2010 9-5 in the coming months.
