Order books are now open for Lexus’s new hybrid CT 200h, which has a starting price of £23,485. It is claimed that the Lexus CT 200h will be capable of 68.9mpg and 94g/km CO2 emissions. There are three spec levels offered, namely: SE-I, SE-L and SE-L Premier. Entry level spec features climate control, Bluetooth, 17-inch alloys, push button start and LED daytime running lights. Priced at £25,200, the SE-L package has these features plus heated leather seats and parking sensors.
Meanwhile, the top-of-the range SE-L Premier is priced at £30,635 and includes cruise control, HDD sat nav, rear parking monitor and LED headlights. The Prius power-train has been modified to promote smoothness and to give added power in sport mode; however, it has a sprint time of 10.3 sec for a 0-60mph run, making it slower than its rival, the BMW 118d. Its top speed (at only 112mph) is also lower than BMW’s 130mph.
"Of particular note are the first-in-segment LED headlights fitted as standard to the SE-L Premier and the availability of Lexus’s advanced radar-controlled Pre-Crash Safety (PCS) system and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC). The CT 200h also adopts Lexus’s Remote Touch multi-function control, for simple and intuitive operation of ventilation, navigation, phone and vehicle set-up systems." stated the press release.
