The Lexus ES350 would most likely not be on the priority list of younger buyers. With a median buyer age of 56 years old, it just cannot be denied that the car's reputation of longevity attracts the older crowd. It's not that Lexus hasn't tried to get the younger generation. The IS sedan has been slated to capture the fancy of BMW buyers, especially the high performing IS-F.
The hybrid HS250h will soon find favor with the eco-minded buyers but it's the RX350 crossover that has actually had the most success penetrating that market. The biggest seller, the RX350, has been known to be favorite of the yuppie mom. Many have hinted that an entry-level crossover positioned under the RX would give Lexus something to place against the GLK, X3, and Q5, but so far, no plans have been announced. At the moment, Lexus will have to be contented at people buying its cars for its reputation, quietude, and comfort instead of its acceleration, handling, and styling.
