Lexus seeks to increase its hybrid lineup sales in North America higher than its present level of about 10%. Lexus is then preparing to offer more hybrid offerings in the near future. Lexus’ worldwide hybrid sales account for about 20% but in Japan, this makes up around 80%. This year, a hybrid variant was added to Lexus’ ES lineup. The new LS also got an F Sport variant for its hybrid model. Lexus is actually hoping to leverage its F Sport line to help in promoting hybrid sales, under the belief that U.S. buyers continue to prefer performance over mpg. Lexus currently offers F Sport options on its LS, GS, CT, and RX hybrid models.
