Nike+ SportWatch GPS Powered by TomTom unveiled at 2011 CES

The Nike+ SportWatch GPS Powered by TomTom was a big hit at the opening of the 2011 International Consumer Electronics Show. NIKE and TomTom worked together to create the new running watch, which is designed for high-performance with a clear and readable user interface that sends the information necessary to the user while in-run.

The watch also has a direct connection towww.nikeplus.com, the world’s leading running community with nearly 4 million members.

The Nike+ SportWatch GPS adds personalization and motivational features to the running experience, such as audible sounds, challenges, and run reminders.

Stefan Olander, VP of Nike Digital Sport, said that the Nike+ SportWatch GPS is a “game-changing product” that enhances its commitment to give all athletes the motivation and the tools to improve.

The Nike+ SportWatch GPS will arrive at retail stores and online in the U.S. and the U.K. on April 1. Wider distribution is scheduled for July 1. But there is a preview of the Nike+ SportWatch GPS at Nikerunning.com and TomTom.com starting this week.

Corinne Vigreux, Managing Director, TomTom Consumer, said that TomTom Consumer is aiming to step into the fast-growing sports and fitness market. TomTom is the world’s leading provider of location and navigation solutions.
