Lightweight Audi R8 V10 in the works

Audi seems to be successful at intensifying its sports cars; this picture clearly show what could only be a lightweight hardcore version of the R8 V10. Audi has said that it intends to create Sport versions of the TT and R8, making them sharper and more track-focused. Weight would be kept to a minimum with simpler bucket seats and getting rid of luxuries such as stereo and air conditioning. For the front cladding, Audi would place motorsport-style quick-release buttons.
As seen from these spy shots, the car has a fixed rear wing and small aerodynamic blades are attached to the front bumper to allow for more traction. The previous-generation Audi TT has been given the Sport treatment, creating a limited-edition model with less weight but with more power.
At the Nurburgring, this black car and a similar silver R8 have been seen being tested. Compared to the standard 518bhp R8 V10, power gains will be minimal; however the car still falls shy of the Lamborghini Gallardo's LP560-4 552bhp.
