Limited Edition Superior 54 Sport Wagon

Although the demand and interest for the Waldorf Corvette Nomad was quite high General Motors never produced it. Some were just content with a homemade version of the Nomad. The roof was later installed on the full-size Chevrolet station wagon and the Nomad became famous up to the 70s and the Corvette became a legend. Although even with these positive elements the Nomad never saw the light of production beyond the concept model. To remedy the situation, the Molalla, Oregon-based Superior Glass Works will be coming out with a fiberglass-bodied homage to the Waldorf Nomad called the Superior 54 Sport Wagon. The company has been creating fiberglass models of street rod bodies, has come out with the Superior 54 which comes assembled on a chassis by Art Morrison and only requires a power unit, a paint finish and an interior design. The C5 Corvette will provide the front and rear suspension, as well as the automatic or manual transaxle. The body will be equipped with power locks and windows and also provisions for air conditioning. There will be only 25 copies that Superior will be producing with $125,000 sticker price each. The Superior 54 will be publicly introduced this month at the Minneapolis’ Back to the 50s event.
