2012 Saab 9-3

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. hasn’t met with Saab Automobile’s administrators yet about its intention to buy the company or at least some parts of it, according to two insiders. Mahindra, India's biggest sport-utility vehicle manufacturer, is eager to start negotiations with the two court-appointed administrators who are supervising Saab's bankruptcy. Mahindra spokeswoman Roma Balwani declined to comment.

In February 2010, General Motors Co. sold Saab to Spyker Cars NV, which is now known as Swedish Automobile NV. Saab’s output was stopped last March when it became unable to pay suppliers. Saab run out of cash and so on Dec. 19, it filed for bankruptcy.

Weeks ago, CEO Victor Muller said that a few groups are interested in Saab, which could still emerge from bankruptcy. A source divulged that at least one Turkish firms is hoping to invest in Saab. This source also said that the Turkish government hopes to soon have its own car brand. This is why it is helping an automaker get a hold of at least some parts of Saab.
