Manfred Kantner will be heading Seat Germany to take the position vacated by Holger Boehme, according to a source cited in a report from Automotive News Europe. The timing of Kantner’s departure from being the CEO of Fiat Automobiles Germany and becoming Seat Germany’s chief has yet to be revealed. Neither Fiat nor Seat has commented on this matter.
Boehme had only been at the job for around nine months. Since the beginning of 2011, Seat's sales in Germany (the biggest market in Europe) have increased by 18% to 39,504 units.
Sources said that Fiat Austria boss Martin Rada may replace Kantner but so far, no decision has been reached. In November 2007, Kantner was tapped to oversee German operations of Fiat’s Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Fiat Professional, Lancia and Jeep brands. He first set foot in Fiat in 1999.
