Maybach future still in doubt

It’s not a secret anymore that Daimler’s luxury brand, Maybach, is not quite a presence on the market. The Maybach models (52 and 62) use the platform of the previous-generation Mercedes-Benz S-Class, which means the brand is getting old and ready to be phased out… or not!

Apparently, Daimler has not decided whether to create a second-generation Maybach or to phase out the brand that was supposed to take on Rolls-Royce. For those who don’t know, Maybach received a facelift back in April, revealing a new enlarged grille, modified headlamps as well as a raised hood. [via autonews - sub. required]
