Mazda will be launching a facelifted Euro 5-compliant CX-7 at this September's Frankfurt Motor Show. Instead of the 2.3-liter petrol engine, the crossover SUV now has the 2.2-liter turbodiesel engine. No official figures have been released but it is believed that the CX-7's fuel consumption has been made more efficient and its CO2 emissions lowered. Styling changes include the installation of the Mazda's new "family face," with redesigned bumper, front grille and lights, seen also on the Mazda 6 and Mazda 3. Chrome piping is added on the front grille, foglights and side skirts. The CX-7 will be the first European Mazda to get the Japanese firm's Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system, which cuts NOx emissions by 40%. At Frankfurt, the car will be launched alongside a facelifted RX-8 for the German market and the Mazda MX-5 Superlight concept.
