In March, Mazda China sold 22,023 vehicles, up 55% from a year earlier - its second best monthly sales record in China. For the first quarter of 2010, Mazda China sold 53,704 vehicles in Q1, up 44% from a year earlier. FAW Mazda Motor Sales Co. sold 12,002 vehicles, up 33% from a year earlier, mainly due to improved sales performance from Mazda6 and Mazda6- Rui-Yi. Meanwhile, Changan Ford Mazda sold 10,021 vehicles, up 92% from a year earlier. This sales increase is attributed to the continuing sales performance of the Mazda2 and Mazda3.
Takashi Yamanouchi, CEO of Mazda China said that in the first quarter, it reached 53,700 in sales volume, a 24.4% of the annual revenue goal. Yamanouchi commented that the company is very satisfied with this performance since it was unaffected by the reductive working days out of the spring festival.
Mazda China plans for the two sales networks (FAW Mazda Motor Sales Co. and Changan Ford Mazda) to add 4S stores, from 254 to more than 300 by the yearend. It's expected that by the end of March, there will be 264 existing stores. In addition, imported Mazda6-Rui-Yi was launched this month, and this served to expand Mazda's product line in China. Mazda said that it will continue to provide high quality cars that have the concept of Zoom-Zoom, and enjoyable experience.
