Mazda’s 2013 CX-5 models have starting price of $21,490

Mazda announced February 6 the pricing for its 2013 CX-5. A basic CX-5 could be purchased at a price of $21,490, including the $795 destination fee. An additional destination fee of $45 is charged for buyers in Alaska. The basic CX-5’s standard equipment includes telescoping steering, cloth seating, power windows and mirrors, push-button start, and a USB audio system connection. The CX-5 Touring model, meanwhile, is readily available at $24,690 for the front-drive version, or $25,940 for all-wheel drive. An optional Bluetooth audio package that includes a 5.8-inch in-dash touch-screen system and HD radio technology could be installed for $400 more. Other options include a moonroof, a Bose audio package and a technology package.
Buyers could grab the CX-5 Grand Touring model at $27,840 for front-wheel drive and $29,090 for all-wheel drive version. All models are powered by a SKYACTIV-G 2.0-liter gasoline engine, which features a 13:1 compression ratio, the highest of any mass-produced car in the world. SKYACTIV-G 2.0-liter gasoline engine delivers 155 hp of output and 150 lb-ft of torque that could be transmitted to wheels using either a SKYACTIV-MT six-speed manual gearbox or a SKYACTIV-Drive six-speed automatic transmission. The CX-5 offers a 2,000-pound towing capacity and active torque split all-wheel-drive (AWD) system.
The CX-5 is Mazda’s first model integrated with SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY, which allows the CX-5 to offer non-hybrid best-in-class fuel economy for all transmission and drivetrain configurations. CX-5 front-wheel-drive (FWD) models equipped with the standard SKYACTIV-MT six-speed manual transmission have an estimated EPA fuel economy rating of 26 mpg for city driving, 35 mpg on highway driving, and 29 combined mpg. This highway fuel economy rating is highest for any SUV in North America, including hybrids.
CX-5 FWD models’ fuel economy on the highway gets better when equipped with the optional SKYACTIV-Drive six-speed automatic transmission, with 32 mpg. The technology is standard on all AWD models, which have an estimated EPA fuel economy rating of 25, 31, 28 mpg for the city, highway and combined driving. Mazda is rolling out the CX-5 to dealers this month.
