McLaren P11 SpyMcLaren‚ new supercar, codenamed McLaren P11, had been photographed while testing at the Nurburgring. Expected to go on sale in 2011, the mid-engined supercar has the same size as the Ferrari F430. McLaren, which plans to bring annual output up to 4,000 cars by 2015, is adding P11 variants and another new model.

Powering the P11 is a Mercedes V8 re-worked by Mahle in the UK. According to Antony Sheriff, managing director of McLaren Automotive, the car is not manufactured like any supercar you have seen and that it will be more exclusive and priced at a premium compared to rivals. Pricing starts at 100,000 euros. McLaren is aiming for 3% of the global supercar market, which it estimates to be around 130,000 units per year. Currently, McLaren is building up a global dealer and distribution network to sell the new models. Ron Dennis will lead a new, independent, company called McLaren Automotive that will build the supercars.
