McLaren planning to build ‘five to 10 models and variants’

Aside from the MP4-12C model that McLaren Automotive has been reported will be unleashed this week, there are two more models being developed. McLaren Automotive is aiming to have 5 to 10 models and variants to complete its lineup.
It‚ speculated that the first of the development cars will be an open version of the 12C, due a year after the fixed-roof model‚ launch in 2011.The second is an entirely new McLaren model, which is expected to come out in two or three years. Moreover, McLaren is also believed to be working on a smaller, more affordable sports car. Part of the company‚ mission is to help re-establish high-technology manufacturing in Britain. Just last month, McLaren won planning permission to build a new factory adjacent to its space-age headquarters near Woking. Md. The company said that it has ‚Äúa complete plan to produce multiple models.‚Äù The plan is to eventually build around 4,000 units annually. Photo gallery after the jump!
