McLaren to unveil its new MP4-12C supercar this Wednesday

McLaren MP4 12CIf rumors are to be believed, the MP4-12C, the first of three supercar models designed by Gordon Murray will be presented this Wednesday. McLaren Automotive has yet to confirm the news however. The first deliveries of the MP4-12C, also known as the P11, will take place in 2011. Famous designer of the McLaren F1, Murray created the car to be powered by an AMG 6.2l V8, which develops about 450 horsepower. This output allows the MP4-12C to go from zero to 60 in 4.6 seconds, with a top speed of 195 mph (312 km/hour). Ron Dennis, the boss of McLaren Automotive, wants to sell more than 1,000 units of the P11 in the first year of production. By 2015, the company plans to reach an output capacity of 4,000 vehicles a year, including the P11, a follow-up to the McLaren F1 and an under 100,000 pound model.
