McLaren fans eagerly wait for the full details of the P12 supercar concept to be known at the 2012 Paris Motor Show. The excitement is very high for the arrival of the spiritual successor to the McLaren F1 especially as the McLaren MP4-12C model has become so successful. So far, what we know about this concept is that it will be available as a limited edition model. It’s rumored that it will simply be named “P1”, meant to pay homage to the F1 nameplate. McLaren didn’t confirm just how many models it will produce. It’s probably going to depend on the demand and the length of time it takes to assemble one. There are rumors that no more than 500 units will be produced. At the auto show, McLaren will display an extreme version of the P12 to show off what it’s capable of. Powering it is the same 3.8-liter, twin-turbo V8 powerplant used on the MP4-12C. It’s believed that it provides a lot more power because of its more comprehensive tune. Of course, McLaren doesn’t anything to worry about when it comes to hp figures. Ian Gorsuch, regional director of McLaren for the Asia Pacific, said that the monstrous P12 has “the world’s best aerodynamics.” The P12 concept seems to be a very extreme supercar and so it will attract a large amount of media attention.
