The Mercedes-Benz CLS, the ancestor of the four-door coupe segment, is getting a new special edition called the Grand Edition which has recently been released in the UK and will likely see sales in the US, too. There are several color options for the Grand Edition as well as a host of extra equipment as standard. The current model comes with exclusive specs for the UK and the planned US model will come only after the changeover to the 2011 model. Some of the possible special elements that will come with the US-spec car will include AMG-spec light alloy wheels, special bumpers and badging, and some power improvements above the regular version. For instance, the CLS Grand Edition which is an improvement above the 272hp CLS 350 CDI V6 turbodiesel, comes with an extra 48hp (36kW) and 37lb-ft (50Nm) of torque. The Grand Edition will be priced above the regular model, to keep its place as the top of the range model in the CLS family.
