This coming March at the Geneva Motor Show the Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe will have its world debut. The coupe comes with most of the new-gen E-class sedan's equipment and powertrain packs. This is the reason why Mercedes is going to put the same price tag on the coupe as it did the sedan. Prices for both will be announced at the Geneva event next month according to Mercedes-Benz.This month the E-class sedan will be available for sale though and the coupe will be available by June.
In China, an extended wheelbase version of the sedan, which will be built there, will be offered in 2010. The E-class station wagon and cabriolet will be presented at the IAA in Frankfurt. The wagon will be available after the Frankfurt show and the cabriolet will reach dealerships by November. The latest Mercedes-Benz E-Class will come with passive safety and standard elements will include a hood that is equipped with cushions for pedestrian impact, a pre-safe brake technology that anticipates stopping action.
The E-class range of Mercedes-Benz leads the way for its modular powertrain approach, which requires all four-cylinder Mercedes powerplants to work with all Mercedes-Benz car versions from the transverse mount A-class to the longitudinal configuration of the S-Class. Part of the E-Class engineering packages is a new range of smaller and economical four-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines.
