Mercedes-Benz F-CELL Roadster breaks cover

Mercedes-Benz F-CELL RoadsterWe think you’d be very surprised to see this… exactly like we were…! However, this represents only a study from Mercedes-Benz, combining the state-of-the-art technologies with the history of vehicle construction. Dubbed the F-CELL Roadster, the “vehicle” is inspired by the Benz Patent Motor Car from 1886 feturing almost the same large spoked wheels as the old car.

But this is not all: the car comes with “stylistic elements from diverse eras of automotive history, such as the carbon-fiber bucket seats with hand-stitched leather covers and the distinctively styled fiberglass front section, based on the component from the Formula One racing bolides.” The F-CELL Roadster is controlled by the drive-by-wire technology with the help of a joystick, instead of the conventional steering wheel. It is powered by a 1.2 kW engine, has a top speed of 25 km/h and has a range of 350 km/h. Photo gallery after the jump!
