Mercedes-Benz making adjustments on GLK option packs

2010 Mercedes-Benz GLK

It was reportedly admitted by the German carmaker Mercedes-Benz that it has exported an over abundance of high-priced variants of its 2010 GLK350 crossover when it was introduced earlier this year. Currently, the carmaker is making adjustments on its option packs to balance the excessive supply of loaded models. The base price of the car of $34,775 was what attracted customers, but they later found out that dealers mostly carried only the fully-loaded version which costs more than $40,000. To enable buyers to enjoy their preferred options at more affordable prices, Mercedes will be making more elements separate from the packages. The famous sunroof option, for instance, originally went with a $3,150 option pack, but can now be added separately for only $1,450. Likewise, the navi system, which was originally part of a $3,350 multimedia package can now be purchased separately for just $1,800. Mercedes will also offer a $2,000 refund for customers who ordered their GLK350 before these new options were offered.
