Mercedes-Benz ML450 Hybrid coming to the New York Auto Show

Mercedes-Benz Logo

It was announced by Daimler today that it will introduce the Mercedes-Benz ML450 HYBRID at the 2009 New York Auto Show. The car, which was first previewed in 2007 at the Frankfurt Auto Show, was confronted with a number of glitches and was deliberately withheld from the market. This introduction of the Mercedes-Benz ML450 HYBRID in an auto show could be an indicator of a market release of the model. Power under the hood for the Mercedes ML450 HYBRID is a 3.5-liter V6 powerplant that brings better fuel economy compared to the ML550, and this engine is paired with an electric unit. The Mercedes ML450 HYBRID is capable of operating in an all-electric mode and it employs an Atkinson cycle for the highest fuel efficiency possible. The Mercedes ML450 HYBRID can generate a total of 335 horsepower.
