Mercedes-Benz Style and Silver Arrows Marine are showcasing designs for a luxury motor yacht at the ongoing 2012 Monaco Yacht Show, which is scheduled from September 19 to 22. The luxury motor yacht, the Granturismo, merges design elements of Mercedes-Benz vehicles with innovations thus far unknown in the boat industry. These make the Granturismo a progressive and very appealing luxury yacht carrying design language of Mercedes-Benz. The 14-meter long Granturismo’s mobility in water also signifies the next stage in Daimler's vision of all-encompassing mobility – with Mercedes-Benz vehicles on land and the Eurocopter EC145 Mercedes-Benz Style in the air.
The luxury motor yacht is currently being developed and will be produced by Silver Arrows Marine, a UK-registered boat-building company. Its team includes world-renowned marine architects Martin Francis and Tommaso Spadolini. Francis and Spadolini have designed some of the most capable and luxurious craft in the world today.
The Granturismo, referred to as the ‘Silver Arrow of the seas’ will be available to the public in 2013. It is styled by Mercedes-Benz designers and is being engineered by project partner Silver Arrows Marine. Mercedes-Benz head of design, Gorden Wagener, said that Silver Arrows Marine is a new brand with the best team of experts for extremely high-end maritime products.
