Mercedes-Benz Unimog takes the “Off-roader of the Year 2009” award

Mercedes-Benz Unimog has been voted for the fifth successive times as the best off-road car of the year in the category of "special-purpose vehicles" by the readers of the OFF ROAD, a special-interest publication. The award was made based on votes covering vehicles in eight categories in the December issue of the publication. The trophy, an obelisk, was presented recently during a gala evening at the Munich theater pavilion "Das Schloss." In excess of 44,000 readers of OFF ROAD took part in voting between 92 vehicles involved. The Unimog got 42.3 percent in the special-purpose vehicle category helping it win the honor.
