Mercedes GP W01 breaks cover in Valencia

Mercedes GP W01This is the W01, the 2010 design for the new Formula One single-seater from Mercedes Grand Prix. Mercedes was the first carmaker to officially launch its car livery at a media event held at the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart last week. At the ceremony, Mercedes GP took advantage of the opportunity to confirm its lineup for the 2010 campaign. It also announced that the real car will be unveiled on the pit lane of the Valencia's Ricardo Tormo Circuit. Mercedes joins Renault F1, BMW Sauber F1, Williams and Toro Rosso on the list of teams that have revealed their 2010 car in Valencia. Mercedes' new challenger has features different from its rivals in 2010, the first of which being its dramatic design of the front wing. There are obvious design cues from Red Bull's RB5-like V-nose. Ross Brawn developed a much more drastic design for the W01. In addition, the engine cover for the W01 is not like the ones presented by McLaren Mercedes, BMW or Renault, as it features a shorter design and doesn't connect to the rear wing.
