Mini celebrates 50th anniversary with project Wash Me

Mini Wash MeMINI Switzerland is set to publish a book that contains work from ten artists who have applied their talents on the MINI. Nico Ammann, art director and photographer of the works, said that the idea is to get together in one book a wide range of subjects.

Ten artists, who have never worked with a car as a medium, transformed the MINIs into true works of art. These artists and authors who contributed to the book project include: Smash137, Fabian Bertschinger, Marisa Pichler and Gigi Burn, Tika, Euro, Aurèle Sack, Stefan Ege and Seak, August, Rémi Jaccard and Dieter Meier, also famous as the singer in the band Yello. In addition, designer Alfredo Häberli provided two sketches and an article. Creative written contributions were submitted by the author and journalist Michèle Roten and Prof. Dr. Jacqueline Otten, director of the design department at Zurich University of the Arts.

The MINI brand has long been associated with art, which the company has always treated as a key concept in their marketing campaigns. What the artists featured in the book have in common is that they have been involved with unconventional cultural projects.

The book is directed to MINI fans as well as design, art and photographic enthusiasts. The book, with a limited edition of 2,000 units, will be out in early November.
