MINI introduces the all-new Highgate, which is the third model in a trio of special editions for spring 2012. It follows in the footsteps of the MINI Bayswater and MINI Baker Street. The MINI Highgate continues the brand's established policy of using the names of London's fashionable areas. It is a stylish new variant of the drop-top Convertible. This four-seater offers a range of unique interior and exterior features just like all special edition MINIs. Highgate is designed to bring to a higher level the fun and excitement of ‘wind-in-the-hair' motoring, providing a new interpretation of the automaker's premium style and appeal. The vehicle is finished in an all-new metallic 'Iced Chocolate' body color, which works well with the customized 'Silvertouched Truffle' fabric roof.
The characteristic look is boosted by truffle bonnet stripes with blue edging. White Silver metallic or Midnight Black metallic paintwork is available as an option. The door mirror caps will always have the same shade as the exterior. Another unique feature in the MINI Highgate are 17-inch 'Double Cross Turned' light-alloy wheels in a delicate aluminum color, with spokes inspired by the Union Jack flag.
The interior features 'Dark Truffle' Lounge Leather seats with contrasting stitching and blue piping. MINI's popular Chili Pack comes as standard in the Highgate special edition. It comes with added extras such as the USB and Bluetooth connectivity, automatic air conditioning, multi-colored interior lights and multi-function steering wheel. The dashboard showcases a sun-touched Brushed Alloy detailing. The Chrome Line Exterior and Interior packages are also available. Marking the vehicle out from the crowd is the exclusive 'Highgate' lettering on the side indicator surrounds, seat tags and door sills. Just like any other MINI, vehicle owners can boost the look of their unit even more with the extensive options list of convenience, comfort, technology and design features. The MINI Highgate also comes with four choices of engines -- the MINI Cooper S (135 kW/184 hp), the MINI Cooper (90 kW/122 hp), the MINI Cooper SD (105 kW/143 hp) and the MINI Cooper D (82 kW/112 hp). The engines are linked to a six-speed manual gearbox as standard. A six-speed automatic is available as an option.
