Mitsubishi iMiEV Police Car joins UK forces

The UK police have adopted the Mitsubishi iMiEV for the role of criminal deterrent. This lists the iMiEV as one of the first electric cars to be considered law enforcement tools. At the National Police Show last month, the EV was displayed wearing full police livery. That's probably what pushed the UK police to invest in a few vehicles, the first of which will hit the road this December. In a release, Lance Bradley, Mitsubishi managing director, said that the iMiEVs have been in the UK on trial for almost a year now. He added that the company is delighted that Police Forces in the UK are able to see that the future of zero emissions driving requires no compromise. Apparently, the UK police don't believe that size matters. In fact, they have experimented with smart cars, meaning that the iMiEV is actually a step forward.
