The pricing for the brand new iMiEV hybrid in Japan was recently announced by Mitsubishi with a starting price of $33,000 for the base model. With zero emissions, Mitsubishi claims that the iMiEV costs only 1/3 of a standard gasoline-powered vehicle to drive, thereby giving city users their money’s worth. With the gasoline-electric power unit, the iMiEV generates 63hp and top torque of 132lb-ft. Japan will be getting 2000 units of the 2009 iMiEV and the rest of the plant will be getting their next year.
