It was unveiled by specialist Japanese tuning firm and racing house Ings the latest aero kit for the Mitsubishi Lancer EVO X. The fresh kit includes a race-motivated front bumper, fresh front canards, brake ducts and intercooler shrouds, including a large rear wing, called the Z-Power Wing. The latest Z-Power wing from Ings is adaptable, which means the driver can adjust the downforce demands of the vehicle depending on its tuning spec and the driving circumstances. The wing will be offered in two distinct materials, wet carbon and dry carbon.
Even though the dry carbon Z-Power wing is only 5.7lb (2.6kg), the more inexpensive wet carbon wing is 7.7lb (3.5kg) and is not as equally as tough as the dry carbon wing. The Z-Power wing can also be ordered for a lineup of other Japanese vehicles, as well as some Toyota, Subaru, Mazda, Honda and Nissan versions, and its adaptable attributes mean that drivers themselves can fine tune the wing to suit their particular requirements.
Even as the wing is created from carbon, the other components such as the bumper at the front can be prearranged in either fiberglass or 'hybrid aero' fiberglass. Hybrid aero fiberglass keeps the positive traits of regular fiberglass, plus light weight, and tough in addition to adopting characteristics such as elasticity and toughness generally connected with materials such as plastic or urethane. According to Ings, the components are intended to imitate their racing vehicles' performance in the Japanese racing series Super Taikyu.
