Soon the curtains will be up on Mitsubishi Motor Corporation's Lancer Sportback at the Paris Motor Show held from October 4 to October 19 at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles. For the first time, Mitsubishi will be launching its vehicle at an International show. This autumn will see Mitsubishi Lancer Sportback's European launch and opening at various countries there. Relying on a body type that is most admired in Europe, this 5-door hatchback looks like it is going to be a big hit there. With the trademark trapezoid- shaped grill and down turned nose, the variants of this Mitsubishi Lancer Sportback are 1.5-liter (109 hp) and 1.8-liter (143PS) 4-cylinder gasoline engines or the 2-liter (140 hp) turbodiesel engine.
The Sportback also offers the convenience of creating more space in the luggage compartment by the 'auto folding function' of seatbacks and adjustment to the floor height by a switch situated in the rear. In mid 2009, the Lancer's growing family will be joined by a new model which will have the latest Mitsubishi Motor's diesel engine. Mitsubishi will be simultaneously launching Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart based on its sports sedan and the Mitsubishi Sportback Ralliart adapted from Mitsubishi Lancer Sportcar, at the Paris Motor Show.
These Ralliart models, powered by 2-liter turbocharged, DOHC MIVEC 4-cylinder engines, give an output of 177KW or 240 hp and 343 Nm of torque. Powered by a turbocharged engine in conjunction with Mitsubishi's Twin Clutch SST Transmission to distribute power to all the wheels through Active Centre Differential, it makes full use of all situations. A big brake cylinder and 2-pot caliper brakes in the front will further enhance the performance of this car.
