Mitsubishi Lancer Sportback to feature Ralliart and GTS Editions
Two engines were certified for sale by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in the 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer Sportback, signaling that the car will be made available at the outset only in Ralliart and GTS versions. The Lancer Sportback attained the EPA city/highway scores of 17/25 mpg for the turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder and 6-speed TC-SST transmission, a mixture that is particularly Ralliart. The normally aspirated DOHC 2.4-liter four-cylinder with a choice of five-speed manual (EPA rated at 20/27 mpg) or CVT (21/27 mpg) will be available only in the Lancer Sportback GTS.
GM most recently is taking another step in cutting its cost both in its daily operations and in fixed corporate overhead with the pronouncement that the firm’s fleet of jets will be put up for sale and the hangar space subleased until the rent ends in 2009. CEO Rick Wagoner, in a similar cost-conscious action, will get behind the wheel of a Malibu hybrid and thus travel all the way to Washington for the aid hearings this week, AP reports.
