Mitsubishi preparing 3 new sport vehicles

Mitsubishi Logo

After it was reported that Mitsubishi was not going to join the off-road motorsport, it came back with three high-performance vehicles beginning with the trimmed Colt Ralliart which substituted the CZT, and the latest TWR Walkinshaw variant. Although the engine, a 1.5-liter with 147 hp power output, is unchanged, there will be numerous adjustments under the panels with better suspension and lower ride height.

Also a more muscular bodykit for the TWR, that costs an estimated £2,000 over the stock £12,049 Colt Ralliart. This will be available by April 2009. The Lancer Sportback will also receive the Ralliart upgrade which will include 237 hp and the Mitsubishi Evo IX running gear as a possibility. The result will be a better kit than the Evo X.

Further feature would include the remapped SST dual-clutch gearbox to meet head-on with the criticism thrown at the latest transmission. The X model will also get the upcoming 400 hp FQ400 and it should be within reach of the hardcore Evo many have been anticipating for some time. The Colt will be available by April 2009 too, and the price tag is in the neighborhood of £50,000.
