Mitsubishi Prototype iMiEV Concept confirmed for the Geneva Motor Show

Mitsubishi Logo

Several images were made available by Mitsubishi late last month for its latest electric-only sports car concept which it will showcase at the Geneva Motor Show next month. Just lately more sketches were revealed for a second EV concept, the most current prototype iMiEV, to be unveiled also in the Geneva show. The iMiEV is derived from the present iMiEV all-electric hatch that is currently viability testing in Europe.

The revealing of this latest concept is intended to publicly showcase the technology from now until the car's ultimate sales opening. Although there is currently no final schedule for the launch in Europe for a production model, public reactions will continue to be monitored by Mitsubishi with more concepts like the iMiEV Prototype.

The iMiEV will be the first all-electric mass-production car which is presently set to launch in Japan next year. It will come with an electric motor that can generate 63hp (46kW) energized by 330V lithium-ion batteries which can bring the car to a range of 100 miles. Charging time is seven hours from a regular household electric outlet. A rapid charge battery pack is currently being developed which has the capacity to charge the iMiEV's batteries in 35 minutes to about 80 percent capacity.
