2011 Citroen DS3

To celebrate its 90th year anniversary on the 5th of February, the French automaker, besides having an identity rearrangement, Citroen will also be reviving the DS brand which was used between 1950-1970. The plan is not only for a single car with the DS name, but a whole new range of vehicles. The first DS is set to be showcased by 2010 under the DS3 designation. The DS3 will be slightly bigger than the C4 and will be placed between a hatch and a sedan and will rival the Audi A3 and the Alfa Romeo 149, which is still forthcoming. The DS4, which is next, is set to open in 2010 as a 2011 model year.

Last in the line is the DS5 which will rival cars like the Audi A6/A7, Mercedes-Benz E-Class and BMW 5-series. Citroen is attempting to scale the ladder to distinguish itself from Peugeot. It will go back to its original forward-thinking origin with regards to technology, innovation and design.

Part of the company's identity change is that customers and dealerships will be getting more attention making Citroen a kind of French luxury marquee. In a matter of a few weeks, the first DS models will be shown at the Geneva International Motor Show while within the day expect Citroen to highlight its 90th anniversary.
