More details of the upcoming Pininfarina Bluecar electric vehicle

The company showcased a revised version of their B0 Concept now known as Bluecar EV. The model was already scheduled for production with test models to be built throughout next year. A change of plans have scheduled production by 2011 reaching an annual production of 60,000 by 2015. It will come with a six-year model life-cycle terminating by 2017. Power under the hood comes from a lithium metal polymer (LMP) battery which will enable the car to reach a range of 155 miles (250 kilometers) and a battery lifespan of 124,000 miles (200,000 kilometers). The Bluecar is developed in partnership with Bollore, the company that is responsible for providing the propulsion technology for the model‚ drivetrain. The Bluecar can sprint from 0-36mph (60km/h) in 6.3 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 80mph (130km/h).
