Insiders from the company says that its about 95 percent match for a roadster variant of the Morgan Aeromax that is due for production next year. The new vehicle comes with a lower ride height compared to the coupe, with an overall profile lowered by 40mm. Two removable panels compose the roof which can be stored inside its large trunk, offering a coupe-like ride when fitted and a roadster driving experience when down. The Morgan Aeromax SuperSports to a large degree appears like the 2008 Aeromax coupe under its aluminum ‘superformed’ skin. In other words, it employs an extruded and bonded aluminum chassis with dual-wishbone suspension, and is equipped with a 367bhp 4.8 liter V8 unit from BMW that drives the wheels at the rear. More details and photos after the jump!
Just like all other Morgan sports cars, the latest Aeromax SuperSports is fitted with English ash in its construction. The wood is the foundation upon which the aluminum panels are mounted into the body frame.he Morgan Aeromax SuperSpAston Martin justifies the use of the ash explaining that it comes with a special combination of strength and pliability and is extremely lightweight giving the car only 1100kg overall weight.
The sprint rate for the latest Aeromax from standstill to 60mph in about 4.5 seconds and hit a maximum speed of 170mph.With structural revisions done to the platform of the car, the current latest Aeromax will satisfactorily pass the 50mph rear impact test without leaking fuel, permitting it to be sold in the US. There will only be 200 models of the SuperSports planned to be produced and 50 units of those are intended to hit US markets. The basic price tag of the new Aeromax is in the neighborhood of Ôø°110,000, similar to the Aeromax coupe.
