Moto Guzzi dealers have started to take pre-orders for the new California 90, the final edition of the historic model. The Moto Guzzi California 90 has a price tag of $15,990 and will be arriving at dealerships in March next year. Just last month, Moto Guzzi introduced this model at the Moto Guzzi World Days in Mandello del Lario, Italy. The model was in production for 40 years but it’s now bidding farewell with the new California 90, the last version of the California lineup built and imported to the U.S. The California 90 features a color scheme with a two-colored chromium plated concept of retro California Metallic Orange / Diamond White.
It has a tank logo that portrays the writing that Moto Guzzi and its original designers had used in the 1930s. We could see that on the steering yoke, there’s an identification plate that certifies that it is a limited edition and is actually the final one of the California. The seat is covered by cowhide and it comes with the "Anniversario" graphic, which emphasizes the spoked wheels, steel mudguards and fog lights – features taken from the Vintage model.
In addition, its windshield has stainless steel brackets and it has a chrome-plated luggage rack, and two saddlebags with velvet lined interior. The California 90 is powered by the standard big block 90 degree v-twin engine, known for its awesome torque and reliability. With a bore and stroke of 92 and 80 mm respectively, the 1064cc unit has aluminum alloy cylinders and pistons with a special wear-resistant graphite coating. It is equipped with a Weber Marelli IAW electronic injection system with 40 mm diameter throttle bodies. As a result, it offers low emissions and a substantial thrust even at low rpm's. The California 90 delivers 69 ft. lbs. of torque at 5,000 rpm, and its capacity can reach 6,400 rpm where it delivers a maximum power of 74 hp.
