Honda showcased the first V4 Adventure Crosstourer Concept at the EICMA 2010 show. The concept has the same V4 engine and Dual Clutch Transmission that is used on the VFR1200F model. Honda claims that the concept gives its rider the feel of a sports bike but offers a comfortable upright riding position and handling of an adventure machine.

In a statement, Honda said that the VFR1200F is the first model to be equipped with the new iconic V4 engine that marked the start of a new era in Honda’s engine lineup.

The V4 Crosstourer Concept will feature the same engine as the Road Sport category VFR to offer the advantages of this engine to a new type of customer. Honda said that this concept is the first time that an Adventure Tourer bike was equipped with a compact and powerful four cylinder V-engine unit.

The press release further stated that the V4 Crosstourer Concept offers a riding experience that’s enhanced with the revolutionary Dual Clutch Transmission that gives seamless gear revisions for a sport riding feel.

This new bike is only the second Honda model to get the innovative transmission system. The VFR1200F was the first. This concept is also the first in its category to receive the award-winning technology.
