MTM Scirocco R: official details and specs released

The thriving tuner MTM (Motoren-Technik-Mayer) presents the Scirocco R with its uniquely developed tuning parts just in time for the Essen Motor Show. The program for the Vw Scirocco includes a performance improvement of up to 272 hp, a MTM Clubsport running gear, a 4-pipe exhaust system with rear skirt add-on, a 8-piston MTM Brembo brake and also limited, sportive ”bimoto“ rims. In the place of a standard €3,479 ($4,495) plus an additional €828 ($1,070) for fitting costs, it is currently €2,990 ($3,860) plus the same €828 for fitting.
The best interface of the MTM motor electronics as well as the MTM middle- and end muffler, the MTM front muffler as well as the pre-tube with a metal catalytic converter. The uniquely manufacture MTM exhaust system for the Vw Scirocco is offered starting from €2,255 ($2,910). An improvement in performance of up to 272 hp at 6,080 rpm can be attained for the Scirocco. A range of 245, 250, or 272 hp performance improvements are currently available. Photo gallery after the jump!
A better road grip and curve engagement is provided by the high-performance MTM Clubsport running gear, which is offered starting at ‚Ǩ1,489 ($1,925), which has been installed in MTM Scirocco. The vehicle sticks to the road perfectly and the handling is considerably improved. The running equipment includes the lowering springs and sport shock absorbers which permits the lowering of the vehicle‚ front and rear axle by 20-40 mm and 10-35 mm, respectively. As a more inexpensive option, MTM provides the uniquely adapted chassis springs. Soon, the MTM F-Cantronic will also be offered for tweaking the adjustable chassis regulation DCC. Besides other features, safety is guaranteed by the 8-piston brakes from MTM Brembo with brake discs and steel flex pipes with dimensions of 330x32 mm, 365x34 mm and 380x34 mm and priced at ‚Ǩ3,462 ($4,470) .
The ventilated brake discs which were uniquely made for MTM greatly improve the appearance of the Scirocco with their specially punched structure. The design is brought to perfection via the “bimoto” rim set. The rims which were designed by MTM-technicians comes in 19 and 20 inch variants and are offered in "shiny silver", titanium" and "diamond cut". The "bimoto" rims can be purchased at MTM with a beginning price of €1,876 ($2,420). Additionally, MTM provides a whole wheel with the "bimoto" rim “shiny” and athletic rubber by tire partners Michelin or Continental (235/35 19) beginning at €3,166 ($4,090). MTM also makes available a gauge extension of 20 mm per axle incl. wheel bolts for €105 ($135) as an option.
