New Bluetooth headsets will be available to owners of BMW and MINI vehicles starting December 2009. No wiring is required and each mobile phone is matched to the owner's car. In the event that the car is not equipped with an integrated telephone or a mobile phone preparation kit installed from the start at the factory, the driver is still able to drive safely while communicating due to this universal hands-free mobile phone communication systems.
Another convenient feature is that the new Bluetooth devices can be used in combination with two mobile phones. These new headsets are compatible with all Bluetooth-equipped mobile phones. These devices are part of the Original BMW Accessories and Original MINI Accessories.
The BMW headset comes in white, while the MINI headset is in classic black. Weighing just 8 grams, each of these headset bears the brand logo on the rhomboid-shaped ear element. The headsets have a rechargeable battery that allows maximum use of up to five hours and a stand-by time of up to 7 days.
The charge adapter can be connected to the car's power socket or to the cigar lighter. The headsets have two control buttons. The first one can be used for the incoming call, end-of-call, and re-dial functions, while the second one is for the level of volume, with speech and reception volume being adjusted automatically to surrounding conditions as a function of the noise level. Some people will find voice selection function to be a terrific feature as well.
