GM announced in October that it had already got around 6,000 initial orders for its latest fifth generation Camaro. In spite of the fact that the first vehicle has yet to be delivered to a paying buyer that’s set to happen in February, with the first unit to be sold at the forthcoming Barret-Jackson auction in January, pre-orders do not have a hint of slowing down, with GM currently announcing a total of 10,000 orders.

According GM, 84 percent of the initial 6,000 orders were for V8 versions, but GM is presently suggesting that a bigger portion of its most current requests are for V6 variants. It seems like those who competed for a new V8-propelled muscle vehicle were the first ones place their orders. Now that those first buyers have all reserved their Camaros, the model mix may be going nearer to what GM had anticipated in the first place. Optimistically, GM and its supplier Cadence, LLC will iron out their disagreements quickly in time so that these initial pre-orders can be met in a timely fashion. The last thing GM needs right now is a messed up opening of its restarted pony vehicle, particularly since GM has been endorsing the latest hardcore Camaro for the last few years.
