n Audi variant of VW's latest minicar, which will be patterned on an identical NSF platform observed in the up! concept vehicle. Lastly, the most current information shows that there will be an introduction of an heir to the poor-selling A2 compact. Details after the jump!
Audi will open an athletic hatchback with a high roof structure sometime in 2014, according to AutoBild. Of course, Audi is yet to substantiate the statement but Rupert Stadler, Audi CEO, has earlier said that the firm is "looking at different scenarios including a new A2."
The initial version employed costly aluminum construction, which basically priced it out of the small vehicle category and led to its market disappointment. For the latest copy, Audi will share parts with sister-firm VW in an attempt to maintain low costs. This signifies that it will probably share auto parts with the future generation Polo, together with several current compact 3-cylinder gasoline and diesel powerhouses. There is likelihood that Audi may open a variant with an electric motor propelling the rear axle and a gas engine running the front to produce a version of quattro AWD.
