New details of the PGO Hemera revealed

PGO HemeraLabeled as the Hemera, the latest model stands for the first truly ‘new’ car from PGO in over a decade. It is propelled by a 140 hp (103kW) 2.0-liter mid-mounted Peugeot engine and conveys power to the rear wheels through a five-speed gearbox. The vehicle’s internal arrangement consists of a tubular frame and a composite molded body shell, while the suspension underscores an independent McPherson setup with a with lower triangulated arm and transversal sway bar.

Numbers for performance include a maximum speed of 200 km/h (124 mph) and an acceleration of 0-100 km/h (62 mph)in less than 7 seconds, attained due to its relatively light weight of just 980kg. Units will be made available in Europe early next year. Details and photos after the jump!

In spite of its low-profile status, PGO has actually been around for over two decades. The French company was founded by Prevot Gilles and Olivier, two driving enthusiasts who lent their initials to the name of the company, and started manufacturing cars in limited production in the early 1990s. In 1998 the company brought the Speedster II into the public arena, a neo-retro sports car with oodles of style and modern features, making it an appealing merger of artistry and performance. In 2005, the Speedster II was modified into a more athletic and more contemporary body and labeled the ‘Cevennes’.
